No; they do not. They've just recently changed their Miles&Bonus programme so that it is now more broadly aligned with that of the other Star Alliance carriers as far as elite Star Silver & Gold thresholds are concerned. As a result, this 'shortcut' has all but disappeared.

Changes to Miles and Bonus makes it a less attractive programme. If lounge access was your objective, consider United Club instead.

Well, looks like I just missed this loop hole. I suppose it was only a matter of time.
Yep, I'd suggest Air Canada Maple Leaf Club or United Club. It looks like they are basically a Star Alliance lounge membership.
