You are extremely unlikely to see any more F-100s in the VAA fleet save for the two that are currently wet leased from Alliance. This arrangement was largely to meet a short term capacity shortfall

The F100's are only temporary, the only reason Virgin have wet leased them is because they didn't have enough aircrafts to keep up with their rapid expansion

Does that mean they are getting newer aircraft soon?

Virgin are taking delivery of 4 x B738's (in the new 8J:168Y config with BSI) between now and the end of July. FYI, the F-100s are generally flown on routes where demand for J class is low / nil like BNE-CNS, BNE-PPP, BNE-NTL and certainly never on the triangle.
