I interpreted qfflyer to mean can someone with Etihad Gold access the Etihad Lounge before a VA operated and coded flight? My understanding is that on flights to Abu Dhabi you can but for other VA flights to Pacific or US you cannot. It is still Air NZ lounge.

You can access lounge, priority boarding etc. with Etihad gold even flying a non codeshare flight.
I also used premium valet at sydney arirpot on Etihad gold for a VA flight prior to obtaining Virgin Gold.
