I'm a Bronze FF, I'm flying Qantas Premium Economy in June.

I'm a Bronze FF, I'm flying Qantas Premium Economy in June. Flying from Sydney to LAX on a Tuesday afternoon and home to Sydney on a Monday night. I have enough points to apply for an upgrade both ways but have never done it before. What are the odds of getting one? Also is Premium Economy good?

It's certainly better than Economy. If your fare is upgradeable, why not put in the request and see if you get it?

Put in a request~ you never know!  I will say that it's even difficult on that route for Gold members to score that upgrade! (speaking from recent experience).  The days you are flying improve your chances.

Qantas PE is, in my opinion, the best PE on offer, even if they have been chipping away at it relentlesly in the race to the bottom!

Do you still get real cutlery in PE? 

Yes, the standard QF stuff you wouldn't dream of stealing!

Thanks for tip, was a bit worried about spilling that much dough on PE if it wasn't worth it. Glad to hear the positives. 

I won't hold my breath for an upgrade then, but i'll look forward to checking out PE!

PE is a pretty good default option. Assume that will be what you fly, and an upgrade will be a pleasant surprise!

Give it a go! I like QF premium economy.

QF Premium Economy is the best in my experience too. Try the upgrade too, don't expect so you'll enjoy it all the more if it comes through.

My expectations are definitely looooow, it'd be nice though, and at least I've got the gamble both ways.

Are there any reviews or is there info on PE on tis site, I couldn't seem to find much.

I had one more question about upgrades. When do you usually find out?

Just wanted to give a brief follow up to my trip to LA. I actually managed to score an upgrade both ways which was absolutely incredible. I flew on a Monday and a Tuesday so I guess I had a better chance as it was quiet. The cabins were full though. Happy happy joy joy!
