Is it just me but has the taxes component for a Velocity Flight redemption just increased significantly? Taking an SQ flight from Bris to Singapore and taxes on redemption are $228. I am sure this was much lower a few weeks ago when i checked.

Ah dammit I knew they would get onto it sooner or later, have enjoyed the low taxes component of these rewards for a while but looks like the partys over

I noticed this exact same thing on SQ - taxes have at least doubled. I assume this is a glitch given VA dont impose fuel surcharges - Id call VA to check.

Looks like it's here to stay, taxes equivalent to qantas now pretty much 50% of a normal ticket just checked again

Just called and confirmed with velocity, it ain't a glitch. God there are some schoolkids on here, why all the negative votes for my and smit's comments completely related to the OP? Geez!
