Hi Rebecca,

Since you are required to travel in Economy for work purposes and did not indicate whether you require a single or round trip, I suggest the following to maximise QFF points and SC. This based on lowest cost rather than convenience.

  1. SYD/DXB/LHR on QF (return ticket)
  2. LHR/LAS on BA (return ticket)

Your routing is as follows: SYD/DXB/LHR/LAS/LHR/DXB/SYD.

There are several benefits to this routing:

1) Buying SYD/LHR vv and LHR/LAS vv as separate tickets in Economy is considerably cheaper that a "round the world" ticket. Again this is on the assumption that work tends to be quite tight.

2) This routing gives you maximum points and SC. In fact this routing gives you 260 SC (43% towards your requalification target) (SYD/DXB/LHR/LAS/LAX/SYD only gives you 230 SC)

3) Flying LHR/LAS with BA offers you the most direct and possibly the most comfortable option in Economy Class. AA does not offer direct LHR/LAS services - you will need to transit via LAX. There is not QFF points and SC consequences for choosing BA over AA. Both will be 35 SC each way. The BA LHR Terminal 5 lounges are also a lot nice, in my opinion.

I like ur suggestions on routing, just one point of contention though. Please correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that AA coded flights give QF ff's their status bonus points etc where as BA do not?
