No, ADL-PER sector saver ticket passengers receive tea, coffee and water. Between 4 and 7pm on weekdays one alcoholic drink is also free. With respect I wouldn't be using Wikipedia, everything is outlined on the Virgin website, for example: http://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/experience/on-board-the-flight/on-board-menu/

No, I'm afraid there is no 'meal' as such. That wikipedia article is partially correct, you will be offered tea, coffee and water on that route. Meals are only complimentary on the long-haul domestic PER-MEL, PER-BNE and PER-SYD routes. Very much alike Air New Zealand's system. I believe it lists it all your inclusions on the website.

Just to make it clear:

Business Class passengers get free food

For economy, it gets a little complicated:

- Coast-to-coast (Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to Perth (and vv)) get a complimentary meal. The retail menu isn't available

- Capital Connect (Melbourne and Sydney to Canberra (and vv)) get complimentary snacks. The retail menu isn't available

- Western Australia (flights operated by Skywest for Virgin) get complimentary snacks. The retail menu is available on these flights

- Flexi guests get meals

- International Long Haul (flights to Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles) get complimentary meals and snacks. (whatever the fare type)

- Other guests are required to pay for their meals from the retail menu

And DJ flights operated by DJ metal from Perth to Port Headland etc have included catering on their B737/E190 services.
