One World Three continents fare, in business class issued out of South Africa on CX paper, with Auckland on itinerary for some good friends who are visiting us. Wanting to add Auckland - Napier as a side trip on Jetstar to same ticket. QF advise it can be done if ticket issued by them, though SA Travel agent advises CX will not allow, despite friends flying in and out of NZ on Qantas. My believe is that this should be possible on a One World fare regarding of which paper it is issued on. Any advice/thoughts greatly appreciated.

Only problem is that Jetstar isnt in oneworld, and as such, any oneworld airline can not book the flight as there is no affiliation.

With Qantas, it is a different story, as you would know.

only way to possibly get around it is if the jetstar flight has a QF flight number too

On the One world website, specific reference is made to Jetstar flights including Jetstar NZ in an announcement dtd 30th Nov, albeit for the Global Explorer fares. This leads me to believe it is possible. Perversely, the SA Travel agent can seemingly link Air NZ flights to this fare (which might actually be a better option)

That is interesting.

May not have also filtered through to the travel agents if that is the case then too.
