I've flown them in business on the SYD-MNL route a few times, so this may be of use.

The seat is ok, but it is a legotimate b-class seat albiet a step below the 1st tier arilines with newer seats.

Beyond that everything is about what youd expect from (this is my term, not an industry one) a 2nd tier airline. I see Garuda and Vietnam Airlines like this (though both are workig hard to improve). The planes feel old, the food is just ok, etc.

Most importnat point is the lounge in MNL. Non are good, regardless of carrier, class or status. Minimize your layover.

Garuda has improved and no longer considered 2nd tier. Garuda won the 5 stars skytrax for economy & Business & First Class hard products & services now in par with many major airlines regional & European. Garuda will fly into LHR soon. ( effective May/June 2016 ).  Mel-CGK-LHR

Skytrax is like Oprah... Everyone get's an award... Providing they've paid their subscription fees.

Cue down voters.

It'll be CGK-SIN-LHR, but only a short fuel stop.

GA 77W F has been reviewed a few times and is consistently touted as being incredible, on par with EY, LH, CX, QF. J looks very comfortable too.
