So I'm off to LAX in May and need to take a late afternoon/evening flight out on the 12th May. I have tossed up JQ5 connecting to Hawaiian Airlines HA10 to get to Los Angeles the same date at 4:15pm. I'm open to any other flights leaving Brisbane after 4pm but the advantage of getting in at 4:15pm and meeting people for dinner that night is plus.
I only plan on taking carry-on baggage and will do the trip in Business Class (and yes I know JQ Business is not the best).
I have a few questions which some may be able to answer
1. Is 1hr 45min transfer enough in HNL?
2. Can the JQ and HA flights be put on the one ticket booked online? I've tried web jet and other similar sites with no luck.
I've even tried a later AA flight with JQ, AA and QF on the one ticket with no luck.
3. Are there any other options giving me a full day here in Brisbane and arriving in LA the same day. I know HA does have a similar option but the depature from Brisbane is at 9:45pm with a late 10:55pm arrival into LAX.
You haven't specified if you have to travel on a specific day but if you're flexible, why not consider a domestic QF flight to Sydney, and then pick up QF17 to LAX? Its the evening flight and gets you into LAX mid-PM?
2. Unlikely as JQ is pretty segragated form OW, so unless you book through QF I wouldnt think so.
3. agree with Markpk. going through SYD gives you many more options. For value business class I allways found Fiji Air to be a good option to get to LA form Oz.

Yeh sorry the dates are leaving on 12 May and back on the 18th of May.
