Nothing has been announced on the frequent flyer front, the VA-Alitalia partnership has only just been announced, don't know why some people can't just be patient. Anyway there are four levels in Alitalia's MilleMiglia rewards program, each with its own special 'Club' name, here is roughly where they line up against the more common tiers:

  • Ulisse Club = Silver
  • Freccia Alata Club = Gold
  • Freccia Alata Plus Club = Platinum
  • Freccia Alata Plus Per Sempre = 'Platinum Plus' such as Platinum One

Based on this I think MilleMiglia Ulisse Club being Silver will line up with Virgin's Velocity Silver, which means not many benefits at all!

Silver on Virgin Australia gets you Priority Check In and a bit more baggage.

VA Silver only gets priority check-in on international flights, not VA domestic.
