SQ-LH transfers on separate tickets

If I book PER-SIN on SQ and SIN-FRA on LH on separate tickets can my bags be checked through to FRA ? The reason I want to do this is that if I book the whole itinerary with LH I can't select a seat on the SQ Y sector, or pay for a P seat on SQ.

If it makes a difference to convenience and price- you can actually choose your seat on SQ. I do the same when booking to Europe through Virgin. The reservation code will be hiding in the itinerary (or you can just call SQ to tell you) and do it online after that :)

Both in Star, so should be no problems. Just ask at your first registration to join tickets and check baggage to destination. It was working for me even in so crazy situation as first leg with Finnair for money while next with Emirates on Qantas tickets on points. They check all baggage through. And I was flying with my son who was staying in BKK and came back to MEL late with JQ. So I took all our bags for him fly light with JQ. It was 3 bags (Finnair allowance, but not Emirates or Qantas!), yet they checked them to SYD and I even check them for free to MEL on domestic Qantas!
