I need to fly to KUL for a weekend in November and want to generate the most SC's possible. Need at least 250.

Can I book a qf flight number on EK in F? What about sri lankan Mel to Kl ( which then goes onto columbo)

really don't want a 18 hr flight with multiple connections!

thanks for your help

That's a lot of status credits for this trip! Simplest way is to make this flight MEL-SYD-KUL. You could do Emirates first class but you HAVE to book this under the QF flight number (QF8xxx) to earn status credits. I don't know how good the earn rate is on Sri Lankan, check the Qantas website for that.

Unless I've missed something, EK don't fly SYD-KUL and Sri Lankan dont fly to Melbourne or Australia?

Looking on the qff points calculator and they suggested ek, qf, Mh and srilankan as airlines. I agree that the sri Lankan appears to be a code share, can I fly EK to KUL in F with a QF flight number, couldn't find it on the QFF website.

EK fly from Melbourne. MH I cannot get SC's in J?

EK won't be flying MEL-KUL after this month.
QF has made it difficult to earn on MH flights where they remotely compete

I might have to go to KUL (from SYD) this month and have been looking at status credits, price and convenience. For convenience and price is it best going with MH. For status credits the most sensible seems via CGK. The first flight will be with QF for 120 SC's then 40 SC's from CGK to KUL with MH.

I will probably go via MEL and SIN (on QF numbers) as I like the 19:00 Emirates flight to Singapore on the Emirate A380 and in particular the bar. Then just a short flight from SIN to KUL under a separate booking. Business return with either the CGK or MEL option provide more then 250 SC's

The best option would be QF MEL-SIN (120 SC) and then MH SIN-KUL (at least 10 SC but can be more depending on booking classes). So if you do the return trip, it will be at least 260 SC. The connection in SIN is very quick so you don't loss much time compare to direct flights. And you can book all of these through QF website.
