Not sure about the Qantas Club Question, but as stated on the Qantas website:

New York JFK Lounge is:

New York Terminal 7 - Associated Lounge (Terraces Lounge) Operated By British Airways

I'm gather you'll be using the BA one. Hope it helps.

To find more info on this just go on the Qantas website airports guide, or google Qantas New York lounge...

Just becareful about the "Qantas Club member" and a "Frequent Flyer Member"

Earning Qantas Gold Status as a Qantas FF earns you 12 months complimentary Qantas Club Membership. Or you can purchase your Qantas club.

I could be wrong but you enter affliliate Lounges such as BA based on your Qantas FF Status not your Qantas Club Membership

True, but QF do offer lounge access for Qantas Club members in all ports that their metal flies to.  In most cases if there is no QC then the BA lounge is the lounge offered to QC members (Bangkok, LHR, JFK and JNB (I think) this may change post March 2013.

Thanks.

From the website - you've got to travel on a QF flight number that day

You will be welcome in any associated lounges at international ports to which Qantas flies, but where it does not operate its own lounge or partner airline lounge.+ Our Associated lounges are operated by, or on behalf of, other airlines.

Present your Qantas Club card with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. You may also invite one guest. Again both you and your guest must be travelling together further that day on a Qantas marketed# flight (with a QF flight number on your ticket).

+ Lounges are not available in ports that are only serviced by Qantas codeshare flights.

I travelled eight weeks ago MEL-LAX-SFO-SEA-DCA then JFK-LAX-MEL homebound on AA codeshares (sometimes QF metal, sometimes AA metal) as only a QC member at the time (now I'm AA Platinum/OW Sapphire, but wasn't then). I was allowed entry to every Qantas Club, Admirals Club and Terraces Lounge (the very same one in JFK - gotta love the Pam-Ann water feature in the middle) in every port I travelled through without question. QF have reciprocal rights with BA & AA for QC members.

I travelled eight weeks ago MEL-LAX-SFO-SEA-ORD-DCA then JFK-LAX-MEL homebound on AA codeshares (sometimes QF metal, sometimes AA metal) as only a QC member at the time (now I'm AA Platinum/OW Sapphire, but wasn't then). I was allowed entry to every single Qantas Club, Admirals Club and Terraces Lounge (the very same one in JFK - gotta love the Pam-Ann water feature in the middle) in every single one of the ports above without question. QF have reciprocal rights with BA & AA for QC members. As a QC member travelling on AA codeshares, I TECHNICALLY should not have been allowed access at all, but I was. Speaking with the OOL QC manager a few months prior she indicated that, indeed, it would be unlikely for you to be denied access even though technically I could have. Others may have experiences that differ of course. I find a big smile, a very polite manner and gratuitous use of our accent all tends to help ;-)
