Generally no given SQ is not known for flexibility (in my opinion). But at least Changi is one of the best options to have a longer layover if one has to pick one.
The issue will be mainly with bags. Once your bags are logged into a particular flight there is almost no chance of a change. >>>>>>>>> Try for carry-on only perhaps.
and then connecting SQ 237 (depart sin at 11:45pm). There is another flight SQ 227 departing around 9pm.
Has anyone had experiences where SQ put them on an earlier flight upon request at check in if there is availability?
I echo other members' comment which is likely no. I flew 2 days ago from TPE to SIN in discounted Flexi economy & was denied an earlier flight. After a 15 min wait, they said they could do so if I am willing to pay for fare difference ...

I've found if your going to stay longer in Singapore they waive the fees, if your staying for a shorter period they hit you with charges.
