Show check-in agent your booking reference for subsequent SQ flight and the agent might be check your bag through to subsequent SQ flight.

My experience of separate tickets and requesting baggage interlining goes back a couple of years but the blunt answer was "no". Staff are not trained to do this. My flights were VA to VA.

I can do SQ TO VA but couldn't do VA to SQ. Usually depends on the ground staff TBH.
