It's insane. Just go to a pub and watch it on TV.

Track is in Flemington. You can get public tickets, however not sure if they sell out prior. Channel 7 (from memory) will be covering it on TV all day.

What you can do is stream the Melbourne Cup Day coverage live and free on the 7Plus or 7Live app on your phone, tablet or the computer.

David. Mel Cup is held at Flemington see flemington.com.au

Admission tickets are still available. Entry is limited to 24 horses and 100,000 punters . Tickets start at AUD80. A reserved lawn grandstand ticket is AUD224 see premier.ticketek.com.au Lots of betting options including placing a bet after the race has started. see tab.com.au My tip is Marmelo

The Melbourne Cup is fabulous, a day to get dressed up and have a bet. You can go cheap or pay for premium seats in exclusive areas that include lunch, drinks etc. If you have your wife with you pay the extra and go the exclusive areas all inclusive. For women it's all about the clothes, hats and looks fab. Flemington is avenues of roses, strawberries and cream and all in an experience not to be missed. Friends and my husband and I are flying over from Perth to attend this event - can't wait.
