I bought an economy ticket flying SQ from MEL to zColombo and return.

flying the following
MEL-SIN 777-300 (04/12/18)
SIN-CMB A330-300

SIN-CMB A330-300 (03/01/18)
SIN-MEL A380-800

I know its not much bu i have 200,000 Velocity points, im just wondering whether i should use any of i to upgrade part or the whole ticket. Tips appreciated.

The only way to use Velocity points to upgrade Singapore Airlines flights is to transfer the Velocity points to Krisflyer miles. The net cost to upgrade your whole trip is 194,400 Velocity points. If your upgrade fails, you will be left with 144,000 miles in your Krisflyer account.

Thinking outside the square have you considered buying a single ticket from CMB and just using your points one way. Tickets on the relevant airline websites ex CMB can be very cheap

Also, check the fare class on your ticket to see whether it can be upgraded. SQ's upgrades aren't too bad, but are not amazing value using Velocity points. You will probably find it easier to get an upgrade on a day flight than a night one.
