Let's hope Singapore Airlines and Hainan Group buy up VA so one can choose SQ for international flights/VA for domestic and have the options of Scoot/Tiger and Hainan airlines for all the other flight options.

I'd like to think they will start with lifetime status. I'm in my late 20s and I've been a velocity Gold member for 6 years. It would be pleasing to know that when I get old I will have lifetime status...

The main reason is because it is easy to achieve / retain status with VA

This probably does not matter as LTG with other FF programs is based on accumulated status credits over years and not the number of years of platinum/gold/silver. Thus Velocity could set a similar limit to what QANTAS has and if Velocity added Life Time Platinum, this would outdo QANTAS.

I agree. After 4 years as Platinum on Velocity, I have stopped travelling as frequently as before so will automatically drop down. I too regret not travelling QF in the past.
