Couldnt agree more. I think sliding doors is more elitist than actually being pragmatic. If only airlines can focus on delivering value instead of facade for travellers. Those that want privacy could just book a space in the cargo area and can do what ever they want down there.

I'm keen to know whether you can still earn VA status credits on SQ flights when you book an SQ flight and then use miles to upgrade to a higher class cabin? I'm aware that previously when i booked SQ flights and paid using SQ miles, that I wasn't legible for VA SCs.... Is upgrades the same deal ...

Let's hope Singapore Airlines and Hainan Group buy up VA so one can choose SQ for international flights/VA for domestic and have the options of Scoot/Tiger and Hainan airlines for all the other flight options.
