For the past 2-3 years there has been media coverage about Perth to Tokyo direct flights . Is this a short term or long term prospect? or not at all?

Not while Perth Airport are running their obstructionist regime. Can’t see any strong growth here without a thorough rejig of PAPL execs.
Don't think they'd have a problem with JAL or ANA operating out of Int Terminal . Just not QF operating from

Last time we chatted with Perth Airport on this, the answer was "No Perth-Tokyo flights this year", although I'd not be surprised to see one in 2019.
"Airline Ratings " website writes this route is about to be announced by ANA . Possibly starting in April 2019 using 787-9 .
