I've just tried to use the Travel Credit for flights to NZ on the AMEX site - like i did last year - and the return cost was $420 more than on Qantas' website! I called AMEX and they said they would not be reflecting any offers or special prices/sales going forward. No point to the travel credit anymore then! You only get the discount on full price fares. It appears the website recognises you have the credit...

Hopefully it isn't true. I'm thinking it might be a system issue as I can't see a change in any of there terms and conditions. I'd lodge a complaint as when they advertise the card there is no mention of this (which could be false advertising)

Also the person you may have contacted maybe not be giving you the full information as I've had a bit of contact with there call centres recently and got wildly different information each time I called. I've also found the customer service has been lacking recently.

I think I recall reading the $450 voucher is valid for Qantas domestic only?

Recently used mine and price was same on Amex travel as on Qantas website.
