Since it will be your first trip to Shanghai, just curious why you're staying so far from downtown Shanghai? If you're doing sightseeing, I don't think your hotel is in a convenient location, quite far from downtown.
In my experience, the taxi driver we used didn't know know where our hotel was located in Pudong side of the river. When I noticed the taxi driver didn't know where he was going, I gave him a screen shot of the street where our hotel was located and then he got it, otherwise he would have just kept on circling the area for a while.

Simple. It’s your first time, you’ve got people who will be tired, it will be late... book a Blacklane car online and don’t worry about it.
