Every airline gets things wrong sometimes - some airlines do it more frequently than others!
Similar to a post upthread which attempts to provide some balance, I also like QF. I don't get to fly them as often as I used to when I lived in AUS/SEA but do when I can.
I am one of those who pays to fly up the front so I do know I am spoiled more than others.
My last trip down under I boarded QF36 in SIN and as I settled into 2K I said to the FA, 'it even smells like Australia'. I love chatting to the crew about all things 'home', I rarely find an obnoxious crew member, everyone has bad days.
I’m annoyed QF serves pretzels 🥨 and nuts 🥜 in a bag with champagne in J class. Most other 5* airlines use a bowl. This has happened twice (both times the flight was HKG-MEL).

I find Qantas to be far superior to Virgin. The flight attendants on Virgin I have found to be more like the Russian Military Police.
