I understand that Velocity points and SC will be earned on Flights with DL number and on DL metal. I tried using Velocity mileage calculator to see how much i will earn on DL flight (on DL metal) from JFK to ICN, however it doesn't list ICN as one of the selection. Although it does list JFK-NRT . Also when searching up Reward seat on Virgin's web, JFK-ICN is not included while JFK-NRT is. Made me wonder if I'd still earn VFF points and SC on my upcoming JFK-ICN trip. Can anyone clarify pls?

Cheers

Are you sure it's DL metal? The only direct flights I can see between JFK and ICN are DL9012 and DL9103, both of which are codeshares operated by Korean (KE).

Delta does fly to ICN with their own planes, but only from SEA, MSP, ATL and DTW. If you have a connection you will need to search for each leg separately in the Velocity calculator.

Sorry, i forgot to mention it's JFK-ATL-ICN. I did search JFK-ATL and ATL-ICN separately, but the calculator didn't display ICN as destination of of ATL.

In that case, you'll earn status credits and points on this itinerary.

It appears to be an error with the velocity calculator that those city pairs (and many others) are omitted. MSP-ICN is included in the calculator, so there is no strange exclusion for South Korea in the VFF DL relationship.

One trick to checking how many points and status credits you'll earn is to measure the distance of your flight in miles via gcmap.com, and cross-referencing that to the tables on the Velocity site.

Thanks for the tip! As long as I earn SC on this route, I am good :))
