Through my experience recently, the confirmation came back with an "ON HOLD" and no e-ticket number.
Three weeks on, and its still on hold. When I called Velocity, they said that the seat wasnt available and didnt know why their website was showing that it was.
Very, very frustrating.

Warning about about partial payment of a flight-: loss of subsequent points.
I booked via SQ a return MEL <>LHR. I had a few Krisflyer points so used these to reduce cost. About 15% saved. I always put Velocity as my FFS so that I get most points for domestic flights in Australia. However because I had some redemption this was counted as a Full free flight therefore I've got nothing at all from either SQ or VA. A client costly mistake. No status Points and no velocity points. A costly error.
