Qatar Airways Platinum Extension?

In June 2020 Qatar Airways offered a status match including for those with Velocity Platinum. That was extended until December 2021 given COVID restrictions preventing travel. Is there any news of a further extension given Australia is only just about to reopen international borders?

I am in the same boat, and was wondering the same. Surely there would have to be one coming.

While it would be fantastic to get an extension, particularly as we may be actually able to fly QR next year, many parts of the world are already able to fly on QR, so they may decide not to extend. And it's already the middle of October, we'd probably know by now anyway.

Perhaps an extension for those that had the 'Australian' status upgrade given the borders have prevented travel for most of us. Even if its for a few months to show that there is an intention of ongoing loyalty.

Same boat - have pinged Qatar about it on the messaging platform and they said they are “monitoring”. If they wanted to take advantage of us in Oz that are only just being able to travel they’d be smart to extend like SQ already have.
