Hilton hotels are offering double HHonors points -- and double Qantas or Virgin Australia Velocity frequent flyer points -- with the Double Your HHonors offer running between now and the end of June.
The hotel group's properties aren't as numerous in Australia as they are elsewhere in the world. But if you're heading to Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Surfers Paradise, Perth or Sydney, you can pick up the extra points closer to home.
2000 frequent flyer points under the HHonors Points and Fixed Miles earning style are a pretty good reward for a one-night Hilton stay.
Eagle-eyed and elephant-memoried readers will remember that last year's double points promo excluded Virgin Australia's Velocity Frequent Flyer (see the site's footnote 4).
Hilton's footnote hasn't changed, but a Virgin Australia spokesperson confirmed to Australian Business Traveller that Velocity flyers can pick up double points this time round.
You'll need to register for the promotion at Hilton's HHonors programme website, and you'll have a choice of double points or double miles. Pick wisely -- your choice can't be changed once you've made it.
If you're a Hilton regular, the double HHonors points may prove more useful, while occasional guests will likely get more out of the airline points.
But make sure you check the relatively extensive list of non-participating hotels. They're mainly in the US, but the useful Hilton at London Paddington (above the Heathrow Express platforms) is also not participating.
