Five-star Peppers apartment hotel to open in Melbourne Docklands
Melbourne's Docklands precinct will gain a luxury five-star hotel in 2015 with the opening of the new Peppers Docklands Melbourne.
The 68 room apartment hotel will include an on-site restaurant, pool and gym facilities, and occupy two floors of the 18-storey M Docklands project, neighbouring Etihad Stadium.
The $100 million M Docklands will also include serviced offices, retail areas, residential apartments and public spaces.
Peppers Docklands Melbourne draws its DNA from the successful Peppers Broadbeach model, following the lead of the upcoming Peppers Dunmore Brisbane property in Fortitude Valley.
Despite its boutique nature, guests at Peppers Docklands have access to a full service concierge team and a 24-hour reception desk, which will be of great use to travellers awaiting a late-night departure – including the near-midnight flights to Doha on oneworld’s latest member airline.

Perfect for people who want to pay for five-star accommodation without the drama of having a convenient or pleasant location! You can stroll from your hotel room to the ferris wheel, to rotate slowly with a view of the roof of CostCo. And then you can, uhhh...
In all seriousness I suppose it makes sense for senior employees visiting the Docklands sites of the various major companies which have set up business around there. But I've always seen Peppers more as a "dirty weekend for bored fortysomethings" brand than a "business hotel" brand.

I'm sure there are many people who'd want a dirty weekend and a CostCo hot dog :)
