Hong Kong Airlines has a brand new VIP lounge so exclusive that literally none of its passengers can access it yet...

... but Australian Business Traveller was invited inside for a look beyond the glass doors, into an area no passenger has yet seen.

The first thing you notice is a focus on personal space and privacy, with each seat occupying its own zone.

4/15
High-end fixtures and design elements combine to create an area that's both functional and visually appealing...

5/15
... with lots of attention to detail, not only in the main wall pattern, but also in the finer touches like artwork...

6/15
... the colour scheme, carpet, and the nearby tables, useful whether your aim is to work on a laptop, enjoy a bite or rest your cocktail.

7/15
There's a good view out into Hong Kong's Midfield Terminal Concourse from some areas...

8/15
... particularly the seats which line the edge of the lounge, affording more privacy from other lounge guests, but perhaps less so from the concourse itself.

9/15
Other options are available which suit solo travellers, couples and groups...

10/15
... while refreshments can be found over at the buffet counter...

11/15
... and showers and restrooms in a well-designed facility.

12/15
But for serious VIPs, the biggest upside here is the presence of not one, but two invitation-only spaces hidden within the main VIP lounge!

13/15
Each private room lies behind a closed, unmarked door. Both offer seating, room service, and your own television to control...

14/15
... while the larger one can accommodate around 10 people comfortably: perfect when travelling with an entourage, and even has its own private en suite bathroom and shower to avoid sharing the common bathroom.

As for who's considered 'VIP enough' to get inside... for now, that's a secret. ;)
