Grand Hyatt Melbourne completes redesign of all 548 hotel rooms

The Grand Hyatt Melbourne has just completed the refurbishment of all of its guest rooms, with what the hotel hopes is the ideal in-room work area for business travellers.

Getting work done in hotel rooms is often a tricky combination of perching on an uncomfortable (yet sometimes stylish) desk chair or retreating to a sofa, armchair or bed with your laptop. 

The Grand Hyatt's setup looks usefully flexible: a comfortable-looking tub chair faces an L-shaped sofa across a round table, with power and data outlets concealed in custom furniture nearby.

Club rooms like this one get extra amenities.

All 548 rooms in the hotel have iPod docking stations, with Club rooms and premium suites also getting one of our favorite business traveller perks: Nespresso coffee machines.

A new Grand Executive apartment-style suite is also available, with separate living, dining and kitchenette areas, as well as an interconnecting room if you're bringing the family along on your business trip.

Downstairs, you'll find the Collins Kitchen restaurant, RU-CO bar and a new events venue called the Residence. Those -- and all public areas in the hotel -- were refurbished a couple of years ago.

The Grand Hyatt is located on Collins Street, close to the corner of Russell Street, right in the centre of Melbourne.
