The special promotion to earn 10,000 free Qantas frequent flyer points through a new Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account is now closed.
PREVIOUS | Bankwest is again giving away 10,000 Qantas frequent flyer points when signing up for a Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account and depositing at least $2,000 per month for the first three months.
The offer is open until October 31, 2014 and there are no sign-up fees, which means you can grab those bonus points without being out of pocket by even a cent.
Ten thousand points is enough for a return upgrade to business class when travelling between Sydney and Melbourne on flexible fares – yours at no charge.
The account also comes with a free Debit MasterCard, which earns you a further five Qantas Points per transaction when spending your own money.
Better yet, you won’t pay any monthly account fees if you continue to kick in $2,000 each month. At just $500 each week, your salary ought to cover it.
Qantas Frequent Flyer members already have the free Qantas Cash card at their disposal for earning points without using a credit card, although with Bankwest, you’ll actually earn more on smaller transactions.
As Bankwest’s earning rate is fixed per transaction, you’ll earn the same five points whether spending one dollar or a hundred – so at five points per transaction, you’d do well to swipe the Bankwest card for anything under $10.
Qantas Cash awards one point per $2 spent, making it the best option for payments greater than $10.
To earn the 10,000-point Bankwest bounty, head to the bank’s website, sign up for the Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account by October 31 2014 and deposit at least $2,000 into the account every month for the first three months.
