New Chongqing Marriott Hotel opens in southwest China

Marriott Hotels counts a new city under its wing with the opening of the Chongqing Marriott Hotel, boasting 341 rooms on the 30th-48th floors of the Guorui Centre.

Situated amidst a city surrounded by rivers and mountains, guests can fittingly choose from either a mountain, city or Yangtze River view from their rooms after arriving at Chongqing International Airport – just 30 minutes away by car.

The hotel is also just 10 minutes from the Chongqing International Convention & Exhibition Centre and is close to the nearby Nanping business district and Jiefangbei CBD centre.

As you’d expect of a business-grade hotel, there’s an executive lounge (below), two pillar-less ballrooms and six other meeting rooms…

… complemented by Sky Bar – the hotel’s rooftop bar – an in-house restaurant offering Cantonese, local Sichuan and international food, a 24-hour gym and an indoor heated swimming pool.

Guestrooms also feature ergonomic work desks to get things done and 50-inch HDTVs to unwind after a day’s work, while Marriott Rewards members can earn and redeem their points at the Chongqing Marriott Hotel.

Sichuan Airlines, owned in part by China Southern, flies non-stop from Sydney to Chongqing on Tuesdays and Fridays.
