ANA’s Tokyo lounge menus get an à la carte upgrade
Business class and frequent flyers are in for a delicious treat on their next visit to the ANA lounge.

Japan’s largest airline, All Nippon Airways (ANA), is looking to tempt the taste buds of guests visiting its Tokyo Haneda and Narita Airport lounges, with the debut of a new ‘Suite Dining’ concept giving more choice and greater flexibility.
Designed to complement the existing buffet and noodle menus, the seasonal à la carte offering differs throughout the day, with an array of Japanese and Western breakfast options served until 11am, followed by lunch and dinner until late.
A five-piece sushi set is among the new menu offerings.
The Star Alliance member’s contactless ordering system, currently available at Haneda Airport Terminal 3, will also be rolled out to Narita Satellite No.5, allowing guests to scan a barcode with their smartphone to access the menu, place an order and be notified when their meal is ready.
Artfully presented on a single tray, the mouth-watering delights include grilled salmon with a Japanese omelette and clam miso soup, or a five piece sushi set with miso on the side. Plant-based options such as the popular cutlet burger featured on the inflight snack menu will also be available.

And the perfect accompaniment to the Japanese dishes? Saké, of course. ANA guests can taste their way through the prefectures of Japan one cup at a time with a rotating selection of 46 sakés in its lounges, as well as on domestic and international flights.
Working with renowned saké sommelier Yasuyuki Kitahara, ANA has crafted a refined menu with seasonal appeal, from refreshing and fruity summer flavours to robust sakés ideally suited to the colder months. Each sake was also tasted twice – once in the morning and again in the afternoon – to determine its appeal at different times of the day.
ANA takes its saké seriously, employing a sommelier to take guest's taste buds on a journey.
ANA flies five times weekly between Sydney and Tokyo-Haneda, with NH880 jetting off Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and NH879 every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on the return leg.
The route employs the Boeing Dreamliner 787-8, which includes forward-facing business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, providing direct aisle access for every passenger.

ANA have great lounges at Haneda and Narita, and a fave is the tempura chicken in the business lounges. In fact I leave my things in the First Lounge at Narita and head next door to the Business Lounges Sat 4 and Sat 5
And ANA First is exoteric. Haven't done the new First but it looks even better than the old First (which is very private anyway) because you have direct window access now whereas it was previously covered by the wall of suites. In fact it looks a lot like the newest Swiss First, and to be honest it is frankly claustrophobic with doors shut except when sleeping. The organic cotton PJs are a great long lived and practical souvenir, and they also have the great "rental" cardigans for use on flight. No overheated schwitzy cabins on ANA!
