Chicago's first JW Marriott has opened its doors in "The Loop", the city's bustling financial district.

Located in the stunning Continental and Commercial National Bank Building, designed by architect Daniel Burnham, the JW Marriott is part of a $396 million restoration of the historic building.

Decked out in a luxe old-school decor which echoes Burnham's own classical inspirations, Marriott is touting this newest JW – the 46th in the family – as "the exclusive luxury hotel in the Loop and the largest luxury hotel in Chicago".

Standard guest rooms start at $US289 ($288) per night; Executive level from $US349 ($348) per night and Luxury from $US474 ($473) per night. Marriott Rewards members can swap 30,000 points for one night in a standard room, and as of January 7th, 2011 all gold and platinum level reward members will also enjoy free in-room internet.

Personal computers are available in all rooms for guests without their own laptops.

The hotel features 36 meeting rooms of differing sizes and five boardrooms, all with wireless internet and videoconferencing capabilities. Naturally there's a huge fitness centre for working out and a spa for winding down.
