Plaza Premium opens new pay-in lounge at London Heathrow Airport

Plaza Premium has opened its latest lounge in London Heathrow’s new Terminal 2A – a hub for Star Alliance airlines and officially dubbed The Queen’s Terminal.

With a sleek and contemporary design, Plaza’s first European lounge offers regular travellers the chance to pay for entry into an airline lounge, which can make a big difference to the start of a journey, even if you’re flying in economy.

Inside, hungry travellers can find a champagne bar serving tapas and a full buffet spread, while showers with amenities are at the ready before the long journey home.

For an extra charge, there’s a dedicated resting area, with private resting suites available at an additional premium.

Offering 15- and 30-minute massages is an in-lounge Wellness Spa using products from British organic spa brand Ila.

Like the resting areas, it’s over and above what’s included with the regular entry fee, and you also have the option to extend the treatments in 15-minute increments with a further payment.

To while away the time before your flight boards is a selection of reading material and television screens, with wireless Internet and computer workstations available to business travellers who need to send that last email or keep working on their latest project.

Initially opening between 9am and 11pm each day, that’ll soon push to a 5am start when the lounge gets its wings.
