Qantas, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines win at customer satisfaction awards

Qantas, Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines are the crowd-pleasing winners in the third annual Customer Satisfaction Awards held by Roy Morgan Research.

Qantas was chosen as Domestic Airline of the Year, trumping Virgin Australia in what Roy Morgan Research says was "a close contest".

However, Virgin Australia bested the Flying Kangaroo in the inaugural customer satisfaction contest for Domestic Business Airline of the Year.

Singapore Airlines was crowned as International Airline of the Year for the second year running, based on topping the customer satisfaction charts for a total of 10 months of the year, while Sofitel was gonged as Hotel and Resort of the Year.

The Customer Satisfaction Awards are based on 12 months of data collected from Roy Morgan’s consumer and business surveys, which polled more than 50,000 consumers and 22,000 business decision-makers throughout 2013.
