Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney unveils new Horizon Club rooms, lounge

Sydney’s Shangri-La hotel now boasts Australia’s largest five-star hotel club lounge, plus 90 newly-refurbished guest rooms and suites on the property’s top five floors.

At 335 square metres, it’s described by Shangri-La as having “Australia’s best hotel view” – with a telescope available for guests to take in Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

There’s also a giant brass and crystal light fixture by designer Mark Elliot, making use of the lounge’s high ceilings.

Up to 123 guests can now be accommodated in the lounge’s dining area, with 47 further seats scattered around the lounge and an upgraded boardroom with space for 10, which can be reserved at no charge for one hour each day.

Accessible to those who book Horizon Club rooms and Diamond members of Shangri-La’s Golden Circle program staying in any room type, there’s free Wi-Fi available and private check-in and check-out facilities for avoiding a pit stop in the hotel lobby.

You’ll find a light buffet breakfast here in the mornings, a selection of non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day, complimentary afternoon tea, plus evening drinks and canapés before the lounge closes at 9pm.
