The corporate card program that's now twice as rewarding

One mid-sized company is enjoying double rewards with the American Express Qantas Corporate Card program's new company-level rewards choice.

Graham Hardy is the Managing Director of Sydney-based blue-chip design and marketing agency, DesignStreet. A member of the Amex Corporate Card program since 2001, he explains how the new choice of rewards is benefitting his business.

Why is the American Express Qantas Corporate Card program right for your business?
Before DesignStreet I was managing director of Audi Australia and we had the American Express Corporate Card program.

I've since discovered new value in the program – the online reporting systems are extremely useful in terms of monitoring and controlling spend and the cash flow benefits of avoiding interest by paying on the due date is a cushion that gives us extra flexibility.

And of course there's now the choice of Company-level Rewards.

And which choice of reward have you opted for – Double Aquire Points or a Qantas Rebate?
We went for the Double Aquire Points. For every one Aquire Point we earn with Qantas, we can now get two.

And while DesignStreet is earning Double Aquire Points, my employees and I are still earning Qantas Points and Membership Rewards points.

What do you like most about it?
I like that we can use our rewards points to offset our business expenses. And we get the reward entirely. That’s accumulating all the time, plus you’ve got flexibility of how you use it – for staff rewards or savings for the business.

I find, for example, using points for upgrades on long-haul flights is tremendous value.

Would you recommend the program to other small/medium size enterprises?
I'd definitely recommend it. It’s a really logical way to pay, instead of using EFTPOS or cheques. It's designed specifically for corporate use and it’s got tremendous depth, almost more than we can use.

The more suppliers we can pay on the corporate card, the more we do. In the process it’s centralising all of our spend, making costs and expenditure more visible.
