From reading another article elsewhere, this is intended to be expanded to arrival passengers transferring from Satellite Terminal back to Main Terminal, once there are additional BMWs in their fleet. This is also only temporary until the Sky Train is working again next year.

Has anyone actually managed to register their Australian passport at the office just past the immigration desks? I have tried the past 2 times and the counter was just closed even though it was within the hours it was meant to be open. So frustrating.

It is for people with Qantas/OW Status wanting to earn SCs or use a lounge, assuming the price is competitive. Although  for the return overnight flight I agree most would surely choose lie flat on SQ.

I just checked and Australia has a similar requirement for UK citizens visiting here. It costs $20 so similar price, however the approval is normally received immediately. Hopefully the UK ETA is similar rather than 3 days, which is a long time if you need to travel in an emergency.
