I agree! The Singapore new 380 layout is so much better as is the Etihad 380 1st suite. Unless you have a separate bed you can hardly ask "how luxurious can first class travel get?". For long distance flights a separate bed so you don't get your seat made into a bed and decide you can't sleep aft...
