Well I live in France, and to be honest this is turning into the biggest load of nothing in travel history.......its never going to happen. Everyone here knows its a joke and is just to keep certain sectors of the anti flying crowd happy but it will eventually fall over.

Big airport yes - organised NO. Its an absolute mess on the ground with apathetic staff who cant be bothered to do anything. As fas as being a destination in itself - well if you want to pay $34usd for a crap take meal at IST (McDonalds) - i suppose that  can be a destination - the rip ...

Only problem is that Istanbul is generally not the final destination and thus routing through the middle east or Asia will be no different, also i fly Turkish regularly from London to destinations in Africa and its not by choice. Turkish Airlines in the air is ok (just) but their hub is a mess an...
