Back in the day (2003), I was fortunate to fly on G-BOAD return to LHR in under 3 hours thanks to a QFF redemption. To this day, it remains the best use of points I have ever made, by a large margin. 

Would be interesting if rewarding ongoing loyalty to Virgin was one of the pathways to the new VIP tier. Something like 10 years as Platinum (a small few would already qualify). This would be an incentive to continue significant business with Virgin and not blend golds with QF.

The BA Concorde was sold as an all-First class flight if I recall (seating was more J style, but booked into an F bucket). I remember calling up to book “BA1 F” in early 2003 with QFF points!
