Platinum or "Gold plus".. are much the same thing really.  It's all about how Qantas tiers their loyalty customers and as soon as they brought in Platinum One, it was a devaluation of Platinum in terms of tiering or preference when it comes to limiting the numbers. 

Looks very classy but a tad boring. What's wrong with a splash of colour to add to the excitement of the beginning of an adventure? The other thing about colour is that it acts to distract the eye from the clutter that comes with a full lounge. 

I don't understand how they could possibly fit all the possible number of carry on roller bags if everyone decided to bring one per seat.  Squishy bags perhaps, but not those rather rigid carry on roller bags. When I am travelling in Europe, it is usually for 9 weeks , so there is rarely any...

I don't mind a dry overnight flight if the price was right.  You actually sleep better.
