I went from pending to approved in 1 minute. iPhone app works well and a seamless process taking less than 5 minutes all up. Lasts for two years (or until passport expiry) for multiple entries. Happy days!

I agree with the sentiment but my application went from processed to approved in 1 minute. If someone like the person above has family in UK, may need to fly urgently, then they may as well apply before they even know they’ll need it as it last for 2 years. £10 for 2-year peace of mind.

Great news, David. In your opinion, does this render the paid Registered Traveller scheme moot? I have recently qualified but note that using the eGates was the main "perk" of the scheme.

I note that Qantas 'sale' fares are excluded from upgrading with points for International flights. Are there any instances where this restriction is waived at the airport by check-in staff? Is it still worthwhile asking or does even the Qantas staff system prevent them from upgrading say a 'Q' pa...
