• There have been unsettling rumours of American ditching Flagship First on the A321 transcon routes for some time but if this is the replacement product things are looking up!I’d be very happy to see this seat on transpacific flights so that I can just outright book American and ditch Qantas...

  • Such a fantastic development. With Qantas’ hard and soft product in a woeful state and route prices high, Malaysian is an excellent option for European and non-direct Asian routes. For plats like me who don’t usually have to stretch to retain this is such an excellent/cheaper way to t...

  • Will certainly be avoiding the first lounge for a while. It will be like that awful few months last year when only business lounges were open domestically - couldn't find a seat, jammed full of qantas club members stuffing the finger food into their pockets etc. At the very least the spa should b...

  • Like @DiscountEconomyPleb I use Tile Pro to track my luggage but I use it mainly to track the luggage coming off the plane. I have bought a few Air Tags for the same purpose. In Sydney, the limo drivers are charged for being in the premium pickup area and a few insist that you text them...

  • This is very sad. It's going to lead to exactly the same poor quality of service that was pervasive in domestic business lounges for many months from the end of last year until a few weeks ago as travel volumes increased and Qantas was painfully slow in responding to a lack of lounge capacity. &n...

  • QANTAS Apology points

    Sep 21, 2022, 11:15 PM

I got them but (in a sneaky backhanded move which has sadly become very typical of Qantas’ attitude towards its Plats) you need to opt in by clicking the link in order to have the points credited. Once I did that the points landed in my account pretty quickly.

  • Thanks very much for this report. It is good to hear. I tried virgin earlier in the year and it wasn’t great. I do enough domestic and international travel to maintain platinum on both QF and VA but hadn’t taken a VA flight in a few years. My sense is that if they reopened premium entr...

  • QF9 Premium Economy

    Sep 14, 2022, 01:37 PM

My tip is simple: Don't do it. QF9 is horrendous in PE. I've always maintained that PE is the worst part of the aircraft. You have some expectation of comfort, which is always misplaced. At least if you're in economy you know it is going to be ghastly and can prepare yourself. Much better to take...

  • Qantas Premium Service?

    Aug 15, 2022, 12:10 PM

Even the third-world quality US airlines are able to manage premium boarding. Their staff are appropriately trained and ask those who are trying it on to stand aside until they have been called but Qantas staff just waive people through because they are so fed up with management. One or two publ...
