I flew recently in 1G & would advise to avoid due to the close proximity to the toilet. Unless you like staring at people opening & closing a toilet door for 14 hours? I also found the curtain is left slightly open the whole flight.  If you want the middle 2 seats, just choose rows ...

Also worth trying (if you have the right amex)  is the Centurion Lounge. 

Could you elaborate on this? I have this card & travel a lot but thankfully, haven't had to rely on the insurance. 

So does anyone know difinitivuly which cards still earn points when charging to ATO? From the older comments it seems only Macqaurire. Anyone ese?
