• Just a heads-up, there's a better plan to this one that's been around for a while, provided that you have time to stop by a local Wal-Mart: 100 US call minutes, unlimited US texts, and 5GB 4G data (unlimited 2G data) for US$30 per month - perfect to hooking up to Skype/your Aust.-based corporate ...

Pretty incredible to see the disparity in value between AA's First and AA's Business offerings - F seems mediocre enough to overlook, but, besides the T4 lounge, J seems like a strong product in the Aust/US market - excited to mix it up from QF this year and try it out.

  • If memory serves me correct, Lion Air is on the blacklist, along with other Indonesian carriers, due to their civil aviation authority not being up to scruff. That said, Malindo is registered as a Malaysian carrier and based out of KL, and from what I've heard from colleagues the operations &...

  • Going to miss sitting on the incredibly private-feeling upper deck on my sojourns to LAX!

  • Bad A/C type choices contributed to the predicament QF is in, and all they're doing in delaying the order is fuelling the flames. Yes, new orders are expensive but with such an aging fleet, even a delay of a year may be a death sentence. Seriously, if your own customers understand the problems b...

  • Did the trek to DC recently myself. DFW has been a godsend for US east coast travel - it's hands down the optimal choice. It's the best airport to clear immi (having done DFW, LAX & SFO this year - connecting via Cali's awful immi & xfer takes a toll on you), the connection times are more...

  • Out of all the US hubs DFW seems to be the best when it comes to making MCTs - it seems like AA treats QF7 as a important enough feeder flight, and I've cut it towards an hour before with a brisk walk & the Skylink, no dramas. I sure as hell wouldn't attempt it with LAX or SFO, though.

  • Is Qantas Club worth it.

Yes, it's pretty annoying the QF LAX lounge is always filled to capacity these days. But remember that it's a new lounge, and everyone wants to check it out (and rightly so, it's a cool looking one at that). Also morning/evening rushes arn't just a QF lounge problem - they're a general lounge pro...

  • Your strategies for mitigating delays?Hi all, after a late arriving aircraft and narrowly missing the SYD curfew a few nights ago, I've realised I haven't really been that savvy in avoiding delays, nor taking precautionary steps to make sure I'm not too put out when a delay does occur (I've just ...

  • Hey Dan,I've done all three modes of transport to DC and they all have their benefits and drawbacks.Coach bus services by Greyhound is the cheapest at around $20 non-stop, and takes around 5 hours. Checked baggage allowance is generous, and some of the buses have free WiFi & personal power po...
