    Yes you can, I did the same thing earlier this year BNE -> LAX.You need to buy the economy ticket online then call Velocity Rewards to upgrade to PE using your points.From memory it was around 18,000 points each way  to upgrade to PE but this is offset by the 12,500 you receive for buying...
