Emirates and Etihad will surely lose money on these flights in and out of Australia. Airport stats currently show very low numbers of incoming passengers and that isn't about to change anytime soon.

So in just one year we've gone from 128000 to 159000 points to fly business to Europe. And availability out of Australia has almost disappeared. Very disappointing.

It took until July 1 to have points reimbursed for flights cancelled May 29. No sign of the taxes yet but given the volume of flights cancelled over the past week I am now part of a very, very long queue.
